Jerusalem, AD 70
The siege of Jerusalem from spring to September AD 70 on an old view of the city: the camps, the walls, the Antonia, the Temple.

Transcript
Spring of AD seventy. Jerusalem stands on its hills behind three walls.
The city is crowded with pilgrims who have come for Passover.
Titus sets up his camps.
Two legions on Mount Scopus, a third just behind them.
The Tenth Legion on the Mount of Olives, across the valley.
Rams break through the first wall, then the second.
The defenders answer with night raids and fire.
Then Titus has the whole city enclosed by a wall of his own.
Soldiers build it in three days.
Now no one can get in or out.
In summer the Romans take the Antonia fortress, right next to the Temple.
On the tenth day of the month of Lous, in August, the Temple burns.
In September the Upper City falls.
Jerusalem is in Roman hands.
