Simon bar Giora (died AD 71)

During the siege he held the outer ring of Jerusalem’s walls. After the city was taken he was captured and led in the triumph of Vespasian and Titus. According to Josephus he was executed by the Capitol, because an old custom required waiting to make the sacrifices until news came of the death of the enemy leader. Dio writes that he was the only captive executed at this ceremony.
