Cornelia (c. 97–69 BC): Caesar’s first wife, daughter of Cinna.

To endure, with her husband, a time when her family name was a death sentence. Caesar married Cornelia around 84 BC. Sulla ordered him to divorce her, but Caesar refused and had to go into hiding. She died in 69 BC; Caesar delivered a eulogy at her funeral, which was rarely done then for young women. She left a daughter, Julia.
