Julia (c. 76–54 BC)

Julia (c. 76–54 BC): daughter of Caesar and Cornelia, wife of Pompey.
In this story no one asks her: she is the seal on her father’s arrangement. Julia married Pompey in 59 BC, when she was about seventeen, although she had earlier been betrothed to someone else. She died in childbirth in 54 BC, and the child outlived her by only a few days. Her death loosened the bond between Caesar and Pompey and brought civil war closer.
