Poppaea Sabina (c. AD 30–65)

Poppaea Sabina (c. AD 30–65): wife of Otho, mistress of Nero.
She wants to become empress, and Octavia and Agrippina stand in the way. Poppaea was the wife of Otho, the future emperor, before she became involved with Nero. In AD 62 Nero divorced Octavia, had her exiled and killed, and married Poppaea. Poppaea died in AD 65, according to Tacitus after being kicked by her angry husband, and Nero gave her a funeral fit for a goddess. In AD 69 Otho as emperor had her statues restored by decree of the Senate (Tacitus, Histories 1.78).
