In 2 BC Augustus learned of his daughter’s nocturnal revels in the Forum and exiled her to Pandateria; her mother Scribonia went with her (Dio 55.10). Iullus Antonius was executed, others were exiled to islands. Suetonius describes the harsh conditions of her exile and the fact that Augustus never forgave her (Augustus 65). After five years she was moved to the mainland (Suetonius, Augustus 65), to Rhegium (Tacitus, Annals 1.53), but she never returned to Rome.
